      @strypey

      My concern with linking ActivityPub/Fediverse to a matrix channel is that users wouldnt realise its going out to a public facing endpoint and not just in the channel.

      Would be somewhat awkward with a chat being mirrored to something slower like Mastodon.

      (One thing i have wondered about those bridges, how do they handle threads?
      Are they internal to matrix only or will they sent out over the bridge 🤔 )

      This seems like a reply more relevant to this thread;

      https://mastodon.nzoss.nz/@strypey/116949225084567920

      But briefly ...

        If it's a public Matrix room, then it *is* going out over a public facing endpoint. Each Matrix message has a URL, and public ones can be seen by anyone with that URL. If it's a private room, then presumably the messages would either not be bridged, or bridged as Direct posts visible only to room members.

          It was you who introduced me to it, with your merge request at fediverse.party. Posted about it here to see what I could learn the brains trust ; )
