    I say to other Pixelfed servers, because I'm not aware of any other software that would support this, but I do plan to write a FEP so we can support full account migration between software!

    @dansup Have you looked at https://swicg.github.io/activitypub-data-portability/lola ?
    Also I guess you are talking about copying the posts, not migrating them (which will preserve their interactions)?

      @renchap Yeah, I am going to implement LOLA, that would make a lot more sense.

      Is Mastodon looking to implement it too?

        @dansup I can not say, as we havent studied the specification in detail. Once we start working on improving account migration, we will do our best to re-use existing specifications, but I can not commit to anything before we do our homework.

          @renchap Understandable, look forward to that possibility, and for improved account migration!

                @dansup@mastodon.social

                That’d be a tremendous thing, to be able to move followers within fediverse, look forward to the FEP.

                  moving followers is no big deal, thats standard migrations.

                  what is more interesting is moving posts.

                  thats where atproto wins by a lot right now

                    @julian @gabboman @benpate Oh right, LOLA!

                    Yeah it does make more sense to get that implemented, do you know if its ready for implementations yet?

                    I’d say yes.. LOLA is ready for early adopters. There’s still some wiggle room in the draft that needs to be locked down by solid engineering.

                    I’m happy to help any way I can.

                      @dansup @gabboman @benpate I think yes-ish? Last I heard it was working between two independent implementations and they were looking for more implementers. The spec might still have gaps to be uncovered by using it with real accounts.

                      This might be mixing up the E2EE and LOLA projects. I know the Data Portability Initiative was building a reference implementation, but I think Emissary is the only live server that’s implemented LOLA at the moment.

                      But please tell me if I’m wrong. It would be awesome to see more implementations out there!
