    ActivityPub defines the social graph. It leaves institutional authority undefined - a verification badge, a moderator's standing, one instance's trust in another are all unsigned platform state. No third party can check any of it.

    NOMOI is an open protocol for verifiable delegation of authority, and it needs nothing exotic here: every actor already has a signing key.

      @nomoi

      This is one of the most interesting specifications I've bumped into in a while. It is also a subject matter where I would love 😍 to hear more expert opinion on, to learn more about the viability, pros and cons of this approach.

              @nomoi thanks, that's very helpful. Think you might want to consider adding the players somewhere on your website. At least to me it's important who I give my interest and reading time to. Also helps a little bit to assess how likely something will succeed, especially for topics like this which need a lot of domain expertise and credibility.

                @thomas I'd rather get more than just my name into the commit logs and eventually just add a contributors section to the website.

                Less trying to sell credibility and much more trying to promote a creative idea and am looking for independent review and hopefully adoption.
