When the holy one left the Fediverse, my faith in Dog was broken

Hey, Pug wasn't Hitler, his politics are more aligned with George W Bush. He'll invade you to support the American Empire but not because you're brown, pinkie promise.
Funny, I remember you swearing up and down that I would support the war on Iran when it happened. How did that turn out?
Fucking idiotic, the way people projected their ideal enemy onto me.

Okay, I hate to lurk, PJ, but I admit that every couple weeks I check to see if you're still active on the FV, and I just caught the above. Yeah, and maybe that sucks that I can do so, because I don't believe there's a 'privacy of content mode' here yet, like on Reddit. No doubt coming soon, but still.
Cutting to the chase-- based on why you scaled things down here, may I ask you something?
If so, and based on Rimu insisting that there should be daily vote-capping for yadda-yadda technical reasons (implying that it absolutely has to be X number), what would you have been happy with as a compromise for X? Or was it moreso that you just hated the whole bloody concept and refused to cohabitate under such conditions?
I hate the concept on its own, don't get me wrong, but it was that I managed to hit it so quickly (before it was even announced) which soured me on staying. If my experience is going to be enshittified, I would rather just... not.
Contributing factors were concerns about how this would affect other 'power users' with their experiences likewise enshittified, and thus growth and sustainability; and the broader 'anti-social-media' posture it reflected.
It's social media on the internet, and on the Fediverse at that. I have no expectation of privacy for anything I post here, nor much desire for it, lmao.

I don’t understand. A vote limit? As in a user can’t vote more than X amount of times per day or something? If so, how does that impact the ability to interact with their audience?
Basically, it made my experience as a user shitty, in part because I was a frequent poster and thus frequently had a number of comments on my posts which were generally positive contributions and I wanted to upvote.

The Zionist guy?
Zionism is when you think Israel is a pariah state. How interesting.

A... weird decision, if I may say so.

Thanks for the reply. You know, when I think of "enshittification," I usually think of it in the original sense, which I understand to be the capitalist milking of an idea / enterprise / product in order to extract additional profit, meanwhile cheapening it until it's eventually little more than a useless, dried out husk. Sort of an Invasion of the Body-Snatchers thing, yeah?
In this case it seems like Rimu specifically explained why the vote-capping update was made and what it was for, which IIRC was to help prevent PF sites from getting bogged down with too much data to track, which can actually impact server performance. I.e., not for profit, but for sustainability. Perhaps a reminder that not every step forward in PF development is going to be positive for every user; some can indeed be annoying.
I mean, there are whole philosophies built around such existential group-lifting, right?
Anyway, what kind of vote-cap number would you actually be happy with? As a patron, this is something which I feel I could bring up with yon dev. I feel like it would actually be worth paying for if we could boost that number until it worked for both he and you.
I think I speak for everyone here when I say that we love your contributions, and I personally feel like they add a lot of value to the FV. Plus of course, I'd certainly rather see you contented here than annoyed with the project.

It's a minor annoyance, to try to upvote things and see nothing happen because you hit some arbitrary cap. But interacting with commenters was one of the joys of my time here, even just in small things like upvoting them, since giving inane comment replies like "Thank you!" or "I agree!" evokes anxiety from me rather than giving joy.
