    Quick question to all #activitypub and #atproto experts:

    Would it theoretically be possible to host a web server + database that serves both as an AP server as well as a PDS for atproto? πŸ€”

      The tool itself wouldn't have to be complicated.

      Essentially, I just want to create short micro posts; they get saved to my db and are then both available as posts on Mastodon as well as Bluesky (no crossposting).

        Ideally, I would then also have an aggregate view of all likes, replies etc from both protocols.

        Appreciate any advice (or hints to self-hostable tools, that might already exist) πŸ™‚

            @dominikhofer@social.lol Yes, this already exists. For instance Wafrn is exactly this. There's also one that does the same but from a AT Protocol perspective, translating lexicons into ActivityStreams 2 objects.

              @thisismissem

              Thanks for the suggestion, Emelia! Yeah, this looks pretty close to what I imagine.

              Another user shared your repo https://github.com/ThisIsMissEm/activitypds, does this have a similar goal or does it focus more on the auth side of things?

                @dominikhofer@social.lol nope, ActivityPDS was initially exploring if I could reuse the bluesky OAuth code outside of their codebase, the next phase of development would be exploring Actors & Webfinger (or not) and ActivityPub C2S paired with S2S.

                It's specifically not a protocol translator, but rather a "what if we had a AT Protocol PDS shaped thing in the AP universe. Like how can C2S DX be improved? Can it even be improved?
