        It’s a federated protocol that uses public key cryptography to prove identity, so you don’t really have a “home server”. That also means there’s very little in the way of moderation.

                        PDFs as in pirated books i.e. we might want to check out nostr even if only rarely for specific items of interest? Or like useless whitepapers i.e. nostr would have zero value to most of us (or I guess you are saying that heavy curation can restore some utility).

                                    I think this is more down to the mindset of the community of people who use it, than it is the fault of the technical design, which does go beyond just relying on private keys for identity, and could absolutely work out systems for effective moderation. But the Nostr community is mainly Bitcoin maxi libertarians, so maybe they just won't.
