This happened to me recently. I posted a link to my Mastodon profile on Facebook to let followers know that I don’t intend to keep using Facebook for music, and it got a total engagement of 2 viewers.
As a test, I posted a dumb meme. ~10k engagement. Facebook intentionally lowers visibility of outside links.

Wow, this older post hits me differently today after Rimu decided to start censoring votes by default in PieFed software (https://piefed.social/c/piefed_meta/p/2200155/improvement-for-the-vote-quota-implementation).
Keeping the Fediverse Algorithm-free is super hard work, which never ends and can be encroached upon for the best & most well-meaning of reasons.
