@julian yeah, heavy on people who look more at the 'growth hackability' coefficient and profitability, than moral compass or the amount of soul you have to sell.But there are roughly 2 crowds on HN. A sizable group is comparable to value-aligned folks you find here on the fediverse. They are the ones making critical notes, and ensure many of the good articles pop up on the front page.And as a humane tech activist it is relatively easy to 'bump' the positive messages that blissful unaware devs need to see, to raise awareness on things. Esp. if you are in Europe it is relatively easy to get things to the front page that highlight the big problems of our modern tech.

@thisismissem would be good to know which URLs fail to resolve. It could be that NodeBB returned a 503 and that would lead to a failure in resolution. Just let me know next time it happens As for an intro banner, that's a neat idea. @baris@community.nodebb.org actually added something at the bottom of a topic, but it does make sense to add some AP specific text in the too.

It's a predicament. Encryption here would be nice but I also like the idea of #ActivityPub being for social media and #matrix being for social networking. The different levels of privacy kinda push us towards that distinction, which I think is valuable in thinking about purpose and moderation. But of course having one ID would be awesome too.

I think it's great that we can now comment on replies made by #BlueSky users to my #BridgyFed account.From a user perspective, if we have really interoperable #ActivityPub and #ATProtocol, I find that very positive.Would you say that instances that opted for the AT Protocol are part of the #Fediverse if that happens more smoothly in the future?

It just doesn't seem natural not using the OG hashtag games account. The benefit of the new way is stability, resource use, and features. Still, it's like I am missing part of me. Maybe after I get used to the "Friends" part of #WordPress and #ActivityPub I can feel "whole" again. LOL

What’s up with delivery addressing being in both #activitypub activities and objects? If my app publishes a nonpublic Create with different direct delivery targets than the created Object, what happens? What is supposed to happen? I know the spec recommends against it (suggests duplicating the addresses in both), but why was this considered a feature to allow? I think there should have been a non-AS2 envelope for addressing rather than embedding it (twice) into the content. You know, like email.

@blogdivaNo it's not. DrupalCMS is a great product and has nothing to do with AI. I'm usually not so direct, but in this case it's just the truth.

@silverpill @eyeinthesky @thisismissem @smallcircles which is to say, as2 has an "object processing" mode (check name, summary, content, icon, image, ... and render generic display) and an "activity processing" mode (check actor, object, ... and render an activity in the stream) which coexist. the "activity processing" is underutilized in fedi, but it's the more interesting one because it lets you unify a lot of disparate models without forcing everything to be a Note (checkins, scrobbles, etc)
